We invite you to our CPD day dedicated to supporting one of our own Narelle McKinley. As some of you may already know we are deeply saddened by the news that psychotherapist Narelle Mckinley has been diagnosed with oesophageal cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. Unfortunately, the impact of this means she cannot continue working in her practice. We want to offer her support and your presences at our event will make a significant impact.

What can you expect on the day

​

Clinical wills are a concept that therapists often consider and maybe even write, but do we really consider what we might need, should we not be able to work? What will happen to our clients? Who will contact them in an emergency?

 

I am aware this is a very heavy topic, I plan to make this training informative, interactive and fun (I know clinical will and fun do not belong in the same sentence, but it will be 😉).

There are many questions we have spent the last four months talking about and reflecting on. With little written on this topic, it feels like other therapists could benefit from learning more about clinical wills, how to write them, what to consider including, and having a backup plan should you need it.

 

This teaching will show our learning over the past 4 months, detailing considerations, ethics and how to manage this in your practice.

 

Marcia Ash will also be delivering mini-workshops throughout the day on self-care, and managing this within the profession and how this links to theory and practice.
